As I've mentioned before, Utah is a funky place. I love it and I can't imagine living anywhere else right now, that's for sure. But, there are some funny things about this place, and Salt Lake City in particular.
One of those is the Utah Mom Culture.
As I've talked with friends around the country, it appears that each state, or each region at the least, has a pretty distinct culture or feel when it comes to being a stay at home mom. Everything from the clothes you wear to the park with your kids, to your hobbies... they all start to look the same.
I'm definitely guilty of a lot of it. (I mean really - Lululemon yoga pants are by FAR the best at making my derriere look great.)
It seems like everywhere I turn (usually at the park surrounded by other moms), someone is talking about blogging, taking a picture of their kid for their blog, or talking about their latest DIY project on their blog. And they talk about these things with their boulder-sized diamonds and designer jeans, with their hair looking perfectly mussed in their top-knot.
It's Utah mom swagger - and I have almost ZERO.
So, I thought I'd create a little checklist to see where I'm at in the quest to be the quintessential Utah mom.
How do you measure up?
